Spring is just around the corner, and with it comes the conference season. Every year there seems to be a handful of new conferences added to the already loaded slate of state, regional, and national events. It’s difficult as a “vendor” to pick and choose which to attend. As a provider organization I know it’s even more difficult. Budgets are tight, and strong business cases need to be made for everything.
We have narrowed our focus in recent years, only choosing to attend a handful of shows that are really in line with our mission as a company and the goals of our clients.
2016 ANA Conference: Quality, Safety and Staffing
The American Nurses Association’s Quality, Safety and Staffing conference, the first on our calendar, is arguably the most focused conference we attend.
While other conferences dabble on the topic of resource management, this is the only event focused on strategies and tools to better manage the healthcare workforce. This is why Avantas has once again committed to Gold Sponsorship of this very worthwhile event.
The conference program features presentations from many leading academics and providers, including Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
Business Roundtable
At the conference I have the opportunity to join leaders from Infor Healthcare and API/GE in a moderator-driven forum focused on current trends and issues as well at the future of workforce management in healthcare.
This forum is an extension of the spirit of professional comradery that is growing between many of the leading vendors as a result of The American Nurses Foundation’s Corporate Advisory Board, of which Avantas is a founding member. Some of the work Advisory Board members and others are focusing on will be reviewed at the conference, but I can preview it by saying that the project is focused on pushing the level of conversation relative to workforce management beyond “features” to strategies and solutions that can be transformative for provider organizations.
Dessert Reception
Following the ANA Welcome Reception Wednesday evening, Avantas and ShiftWise have partnered to offer attendees this officially sponsored dessert reception. This event will provide the perfect night cap to very busy first day of the conference, and all attendees are welcome.
