In fact, we developed our HELM® methodology out of our own need for a more sophisticated and efficient way to manage labor. Avantas started as a group within Alegent Health, today CHI Health, nearly two decades ago. At the time we were charged with helping optimize its workforce across the expanding health system. Our efforts were so successful that we became a separate company and began offering our expertise to the entire industry.
In 2004 we developed the Avantas Predictive Model to provide forecasts of patient volume 120 days in advance of the shift, enabling the creation of better staffing plans sooner. In 2007 we developed a healthcare scheduling software, Smart Square®. Powered by the predictive model, no other solution on the market offers the flexibility and customization necessary to fully automate our strategies and provide a transparent view of staffing, scheduling, and productivity at the enterprise level.
Avantas forms as an internal work group within Alegent Health (today CHI Health).
Develops and implements Enterprise Pool to tackle last-minute needs across Alegent Health’s Omaha metro hospitals.
Develops 24x7x365 Centralized Resource Management to better coordinate day-of staffing across the enterprise and develop more strategic staffing plans.
Avantas develops the Predictive Model, allowing provider organizations the ability to develop better staffing plans sooner.
Smart Square adds Business Intelligence dashboards, providing real-time and next-day staffing and productivity information across the enterprise.
Avantas becomes a division of AMN Healthcare, creating a comprehensive workforce planning solution from forecasting to fulfillment.
